Maryvale Public Library Expansion Update
The libary expansion plans have been passed by council, with help from Michael Thompson. Feedback outreach to schools, daycare, community centre and groups like MCA including local residents resulted in many voices heard, with space being the major issue raised. In the latest plans, expect to see a lot of windows, more seating, more computers, more outlets and tables for study space, larger teen and children zones, hands on interactive activities, program room for larger meetings of small groups (15-20) . The library opening is planned for end of 2021, beginning of 2022. Formal contruction is out for tender to find the building contractor. The renovation start date is dependent on bid process and city/contractor's coordination schedule.
